Within the United States of America, there are few areas wherein large-scale infrastructure is a foreign concept, the land is devoid of roads, and the mountains are uncut by trails. The Arctic National Wildlife Refuge happens to be just such a place.
Comprising nearly 20 million acres, the Refuge provides vital habitat to a variety of plants, as well as, polar bears, grizzlies, black bears, moose, caribou, wolves, eagles, lynx, wolverine, beavers, and many migratory birds. Additionally, the Refuge has been home for thousands of years to Inupiaq and Gwich'in Peoples.
For many decades, the Refuge was protected from any type of oil or gas exploration. However, after roughly fifty attempts from Republicans since 1977, serial-grifter Trump acquiesced and granted oil and gas leasing rights in the 1002 Area of the Refuge. These leases were sold off to bidders as the Trump Administration left office.
In 2021, President Biden put a temporary halt to drilling activity in the Refuge. For LOLA, "temporary" won't cut it; there needs to be a permanent injunction against all current and future oil or gas exploration in all parts of the Refuge.
We say "to hell" with allowing the Refuge to be used as a political football for incoming or outgoing administrations. Join us in fighting to permanently and completely protect the entire Refuge from any oil or gas exploration. Also, please contact your Senators and Representatives in Congress to urge them to support the Comprehensive Conservation Plan.
We legitimately thank you for any consideration you may provide.
We are dedicated to fighting to protect our wildlands and wildlife.
Your generosity provides us with the necessary means to bring the battle to the front door of the money-grubbing goons who see Mother Earth as a paycheck.
When we send you something, it has a purpose.
